TMLs 2010 NHL Mock Draft


The NHL gets set on June 25th for the first round of the NHL Draft 2010 in Los Angeles and all Leaf fans know that the club does not have a first round pick in this draft at the moment but that could all change with a trade. TML Fan Fury though has decided to still bring you a first round mock draft of who we think will go where.

Edmonton Oilers (1st Overall Pick)

Taylor Hall (Windsor Spitfires, OHL) Forward

Hall is a gifted forward, with speed, vision, hands and a wealth of offensive tools.

Boston Bruins (2nd Overall Pick)

Tyler Seguin (Plymouth Whalers, OHL) Forward

Seguin could easily go number one, the crafty all round player is just what Bruins need

Florida Panthers (3rd Overall Pick)

Cam Fowler (Windsor Spitfires, OHL) Defensemen

Fowler is an offensive defensemen who loves to join the rush

Columbus Blue Jackets (4th Overall Pick)

Erik Gudbranson (Kingston Frontenacs, OHL) Defensemen

Gudbranson is a big rugged defensemen who isnt afraid to jump into the rush

New York Islanders (5th Overall Pick)

Brandon Gormley (Moncton Wildcats, QMJHL) Defensemen

Gormley adds some depth at the bank end for a club the is just getting gems in the draft

Tampa Bay Lightning (6th Overall Pick)

Mark Pysyk (Edmonton Oil Kings, WHL) Defensemen

Pysyk gives the Lightning what they need another good player for the backend

Carolina Hurricanes (7th Overall Pick)

Nino Neiderreiter (Portland Winter Hawks, WHL) Forward

Neiderreiter is a big forward that loved to play the North American style game

Atlanta Thrashers (8th Overall Pick)

Brett Connolly (Prince George Cougars, WHL) Forward

Connolly supplies the Thrashers with some offense, good faceoff man

Minnesota Wild (9th Overall Pick)

Alex Burmistrov (Barrie Colts, OHL) Forward

The Wild need goals and Burmistrov will bring it, power forward type

New York Rangers (10th Overall Pick)

Ryan Johansen (Portland Winter Hawks, WHL) Forward

Johansen has some mad skills and plays center both things the Rangers lack

Dallas Stars (11th Overall Pick)

Derek Forbort (U18 USA, NTDP) Defensemen

Forbort is a big strong defensemen with some puck skills

Anaheim Ducks (12th Overall Pick)

Mikael Granlund (HIFK, Finland) Forward

Granlund is one of the quicker forwards in draft, the next Finish Flash?

Phoenix Coyotes (13th Overall Pick)

Vladimir Tarasenko (Sibit, KHL) Forward

Tarasenko has shown that he belongs in the KHL will he do the same in the NHL?

St. Louis Blues (14th Overall Pick)

Jack Campbell (U18 USA, NTDP) Goalkeeper

The Blues need goaltending and Campbell is the best in the draft

Boston Bruins (15th Overall Pick)

Jeff Skinner (Kitchener Rangers, OHL) Forward

A Winger to play with Seguin as Bruins make second first round pick of the day

Ottawa Senators (16th Overall Pick)

Emerson Etem (Medice Hat Tigers, WHL) Forward

The Sens get themselves a gifted offensive forward

Colorado Avalanche (17th Overall Pick)

Dylan McIlrath (Moose Jaw Warriors, WHL) Defensemen

McIlrath is a good stay at home defensemen, Avs would love to get him here

Nashville Predators (18th Overall Pick)

Austin Watson (Peterborough Petes, OHL) Forward

Watson is considered to be one of the top two way playes in the CHL

Los Angeles Kings (19th Overall Pick)

Quinton Howden (Moose Jaw Warriors, WHL) Forward

The hosts make their pick and plug up the middle with the selection

Pittsburgh Penguins (20th Overall Pick)

Jon Merrill (U18 USA, NTDP) Defensemen

The Pens need some backend help and get it with this pick

Detroit Red Wings (21st Overall Pick)

Riley Sheahan (Notre Dame, CCHA) Forward

The Wings make a rare first round selection on strong scoring forward

Phoenix Coyotes (22nd Overall Pick)

Jared Tinordi (U18 USA, NTDP) Defensemen

Yotes second pick of first round has the shore up the back end with Tinordi

Buffalo Sabres (23rd Overall Pick)

John McFarland (Sudbury Wolves, OHL) Forward

Sabres continue their run of adding to depth in forward corps

Atlanta Thrashers (24th Overall Pick)

Stephen Johns (U18 USA, NTDP) Defensemen

Thrashers second pick of first round sees them land a shutdown blueliner

Vancouver Canucks (25th Overall Pick)

Tyler Pitlick (Minnesota State, WCHA) Forward

The Canucks get a player with good potential to grow into a top three forward

Washington Capitals (26th Overall Pick)

Jaden Schwartz (Tri-City, USA) Forward

Another gifted forward to add to the Capitals system

Montreal Canadiens (27th Overall Pick)

Calvin Pickard (Seattle Thunderbirds, WHL) Goalkeeper

Habs get a decent goalie for depth as one of their two now is heading out of town

San Jose Sharks (28th Overall Pick)

Stanislav Galiev (Saint John Sea Dogs, QMJHL) Forward

Another Russian sniper, would fit Sharks mold nicely

Anaheim Ducks (29th Overall Pick)

Nick Bjustad (Blain MN High School) Forward

Ducks go on a limb with second seletion in first round and draft a project with great reward

Chicago Black Hawks (30th Overall Pick)

Evgeny Kuznetsov (Chelyabinsk, KHL) Forward

Kuznetsov is one of the most skilled Russian in draft
