Who is Maple Leaf Tim Brent?
Tim Brent's name has been talked about throughout this past training camp as the journeymen forward has finally landed a spot to start the season on a NHL roster but many including myself wonder who is Tim Brent and where did he come from?
Brian Burke signed the center to a two way contract on July 6, 2009 as he looked to add depth to a weak Toronto Marlies roster, Burke was familiar with Brent having had him under the Anaheim Ducks franchise and believe it or not Brent was drafted twice by the Ducks franchise after failing to sign with them the first time picked.
The 26 year old has been part of four NHL franchises, going through Anaheim, Pittsburgh, Chicago and now Toronto and has played in 19 NHL games to date scoring two goals. The Cambridge, Ontario native played his junior hockey also in the city when he was a part of the St. Michaels Majors OHL club.
Tim Brent is an above average two way player, who is great on the face offs, has soft hands and plays with grit, his hard work has earned him a spot on the big club and Leafs Nation always has a soft spot for hard workers that over come the odds to make a club....Congrats we will see you on the ice.
